A perfect Berlin love story. Male in bubble on the left looks over to the female in the bubble on the right. He looks smitetn. She’s distracted and tapping away on her Kiwi phone.
All illustrations made by the author, originally submitted to ComicInvasionBerlin for the Berliner Comic Fenster 2024.
In the subway. Male wearing a blue shirt on the left. The female on the right, wearing pink. She’s scrolling her phone. Thought bubble male: “What a beautiful stranger.”
She looks up and spots him staring. He hides behind his book. “Ups! That was way too obvious.”
Sweat drops appear on her forehead. She hides behind her phone. Thought bubble: “Uh oh! He caught me staring…”
Speech bubbles, both characters: “Shall I just ask their phone number?”
Her thought bubble: “He could reject me… Well, here goes nothing!” His thought bubble: “She might say “no.” Let’s see!”
Both speaking: “Excuse me?” “Hihih.”
Both speaking at the same time: “Would you like to…” She hands him the phone to add a new contact. Both speaking: “Yes!”
2 years later at S+U Wedding, as bride and groom. Station sign reads “Just Married.”
There’s a station in Berlin called S+U Wedding. The couple took their wedding photos here. Obviously.
