It’s been nearly 6 years since I last opened a code editor.

I thought I’d never touch one again.

But here we are.

Similar goal, a different approach

When trying to become a self-taught developer from 2016 to 2019, things didn’t go well.

2016 is a long time ago.

Back then, every time my code had a bug, I had a severe mental meltdown and was ready to start ripping my hairs out.

Why so dramatic?

I lacked an essential component, critical to successfully becoming anything: emotional regulation skills, referring to the ability to calm yourself down in the face of adversity.

Years later (and many therapy sessions, minutes in meditation, somatic exercises and whatnot), I’ve finally acquired aforementioned skills.

I’m ready to give coding another try.

The criteria

I need a course to help me get started.

It has to be be:

  • Affordable. Read: no more than $50.
