Reaching C2 Fluency in German: My 4-Month Plan To Pass The Most Difficult Goethe Exam

Last year, I tried passing the Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS).

I passed only one out of 4 modules.

In short: I flat-out failed.

This is unacceptable. Someone who lives abroad permanently and by choice should master the language of their host country.

  • Out of respect
  • To ease the assimilation process
  • And to improve access to jobs and opportunities.

This is my 8th year in Germany — and counting. I’m out of excuses for why I’m still not fluent.

I’m not risking another month’s rent on wasted exam fees. This time, we’re taking the structured approach.
